Our aluminium tubes are supplied in a choice of aluminium grades from the 6000 series. These are medium strength alloys with very good to excellent corrosion resistance. 6082 T6 is known as a structural alloy and has the highest strength of the series, whilst 6063 is an architectural alloy ideal for intricate extrusions. The box shape lends itself well to a wide choice of construction applications including frame making, racking units, hand rails, balustrades, barriers, posts and more. Outdoor applications are achievable as the oxide layer on the aluminium rectangular box section is naturally resistant to corrosion. However, an anodised surface finish would offer another layer of protection and this service can be arranged when you order aluminium online.
