2. Prepare the Surface Ensure the surface you are fixing to (whether it's ply, drywall, or metal) is clean, dry, and free of grease. If you are covering a floor, sweep away any debris that could cause the plate to sit unevenly.

Adhesive: For wall protection or areas where you don't want visible screws, use a high-strength grab adhesive (like CT1 or similar). Apply it in lines on the back of the flat side and press firmly into place.

Mechanical Fixings: For flooring or ramps, screws are best. You can drill through Aluminium Chequer Plate with a standard HSS drill bit. We recommend using countersunk screws for a flush finish so people don't trip over the screw heads.
