Aluminium Square Tube

Our aluminium square tube, also referred to as box section, is readily available to order individually or in bulk, from our vast aluminium online offering. To get you the right aluminium square box section for your next project, we supply various sizes, wall thicknesses and lengths. Each aluminium profile has the option of custom cutting too. So, if you need your aluminium square tubes cut to size, you can order in increments of 1000mm and only pay for the material you need.

A fundamental benefit of all of our tube box section is how they are made. Aluminium extrusion is the process how the aluminium alloy is transformed from aluminium bars or billets into a hollow square tubes. Once it is pushed through a die in a hot furnace at extreme pressures, the new aluminium profile is extracted, then cooled down to solidify it's newly formed shape. The whole process is controlled for the greatest level of precision. This method ensures the final product you'll receive has both a good surface finish and nice square edges.

Aluminium is often the metal of choice for fabrications that require strength and durability as well as an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Similar to our rectangular tube, we stock our aluminium square tubes in alloy grades from the 6000 series. These are medium strength alloys with very good to excellent corrosion resistance.

Grade 6082T6 is known as the structural alloy. It has the highest strength of the series, whilst 6063 is an architectural alloy and is ideal for intricate extrusions. The hollow sections adapt well to a wide choice of building applications. From frame making, shelf support, hand rails, balustrades, barriers, posts, fences, windows and door frames and much more.

For outdoor fabrications such as garden storage, there is an oxide layer on the aluminium box section which has natural corrosion resistance.
