The British Tool and Engineering Company, The company which founded the Britool brand first started production in 1908 and Britool has been the number one choice for professional engineers ever since. Demand for the company's products grew strongly between the wars and during the Second World War, Britool was the principal supplier of tools to the British armed forces, supplying over 200 million wrenches, sockets and accessories. The widespread use of Britool products during the war brought the high quality of the brand's products to the attention of a wider audience, significantly increasing market knowledge and made Britool the number one tightening tool brand in the UK. In 2006 Britool and the Facom Group merged with Stanley the World's largest supplier of tools.
